Obama Smoke and Mirrors

Once again this administration is relying on the old Smoke and Mirrors tactic which has served them so well thought their time in the White House. We have a group of Senators come together to work on an immigration law which will try and solve the problem that we have with the illegal aliens.  This group was comprised of 4 Republican and 4 Democratic Senators that were trying to work in a bipartisan atmosphere which has not been seen in Washington in at least 5 years.

You would think that the President would welcome this type of unity and support the effort that is being made by both sides trying to solve a major problem that the American people have.  But instead this President who was going to be the great uniter again has divided the country.  The White House leaked information about a plan that they were supposedly working on to solve the immigration problem.  This plan torpedoed the plan that was being worked on by the bipartisan group.  Again the President used his Smoke and Mirrors tactics to make something that could have started some type of working relationships in the Sennate and possibly the House to fizzle and die.

Sometimes I wonder just why he would do such things to hurt the people of the United States and then I realize that his goal is to make us a Socalistic nation.  This is not a short term goal but something that will take years and years but he is paving the way.

Colorado's Marijuana Law

Colorado's marijuana Law

Back in November the people of Colorado voted to legalize Marijuana in the state for recreational use of its residents.  The measure which is Amendment 64 has not really brought out any large opposition from the Obama Administration which is of no surprise to because they are all about Smoke and Mirrors.  This Amendment is in direct violation to the federal laws on the use and sales of Marijuana but the Obama Administration has not raised a finger to challenge the State or any part of this new law.  The Obama’s Office of National Drug Control Policy has stated the following "steadfastly opposes legalization of marijuana and other drugs because legalization would increase the availability and use of illicit drugs, and pose significant health and safety risks".  If this is the opinion of the Administration then why have they not gone after the State of Colorado and this new law?

When the State of Arizona enacted laws on immigration the Obama Administration took the State to court and went as far as to set up a telephone hotline and e-mail address for the public to report civil rights concerns about the laws enforcement.  The law that Arizona passed was to strengthen a law that was on the books of the United States Government. On the contrary Amendment 64 is in direct violation of several federal laws.

We spend billions of dollars preventing Drug trafficking into the United States and yet we allow a state to pass legislation which directly affects other States rights and privileges without a challenge.  This law affects more than just the State of Colorado because of the affect that it has on companies who have offices, stores or shops in other states.  If an employer refuses to hire a person in another state because they have used marijuana and it comes back on a drug test then he must refuse that person in Colorado or be faced with a law suit for discrimination.  This is just another example where the Obama Administration has failed to work for us the people of the United States.

Middle Class Health Care

Middle Class Health Care

Themiddleclassman
As is sit down and try to star working on my income tax preparation for last year I noticed something new on my W-2 form.  It is located in box 12b and the explanation on the back of the form is as follows “Cost of employer-sponsored health coverage (if such cost is provided by the employer).  The reporting in Box 12, using Code DD, of the cost of employer-sponsored health coverage is for your information only. The amount reported with Code DD is not taxable.”  This is an interesting little side note that I am sure came along with our Oboma Care bill and was more than likely buried in the 906 pages that make up this Act.  Looking at the statement on the back of the W-2 it clearly states that the amount reported is not taxable but the bigger question is WHEN.  When will this amount become taxable income?
My employer has a health care program that I am able to participate in due to my full time employment with the company.  I do not consider this as compensation for working for the company but as something that my company sees as a way to keep hard working employees and entice new employees to the company .  The company is paying a percentage of the health care cost and I pay the rest.  Over the past few years my contribution amount has gone up and the services received have gone down.  I realize that my company needs to decrease their contribution each year to stay profitable and I am willing to pay the extra for the services provided.   However, at some point in time I know that the Oboma administration is going change the above code to a Taxable form of income.  And why would they do such a thing you ask.  Simple they need the cash.
We are going to bring in a lot of new people into the health care system and all of them will not be able to or required to pay for anything. For them the services that I am paying for will be free and so where will the money come from to pay off this debt.  You got it more taxes.  They will start taxing the contributions that the companies make for an employee thus raising the taxes.  And where do you think that most of this new tax base will come from?  You got it.  The hard working middle class people of the United States.
Oboma will soon find out what many people have been saying is true.  Taxing the top earners will not pay for the debt that he has put this country into over the last 4 years. He needs to start cutting programs and let’s start with the Welfare system.

Oboma and guns

Oboma and Guns

As you listen to Mr. Oboma and the entire liberal group around him they all say that we do not want to take away the gun rights of the America people it makes you think back to the American Revolutionary war and the battle at Lexington.  Right after the first skirmish the British went looking for ammunition and guns to take away from the Colonists.  The theory was without these two things the colonist would not be able to Rebel thus crushing any hopes of Freedom and crushing the start of this Great Country  we All LOVE.  If you read the Second Amendment it states the following.  “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

As I listen to Mr. Oboma this week standing in front of a group of law officers at a speech in Minneapolis and tell the people of the United States that they should not be as well armed as the police force I wonder why?  Why is he telling us that we do not have the rights which those brave men at Lexington gave their life’s for.  Why is it that he releases a picture of himself shooting skeet at Camp David? (Also, if you look at the picture he is not holding the gun correctly for skeet and unless he is trying to hit the target about 4’ off the ground his aim is really off. )  I will tell you why this man is doing all these things it is all smoke and mirrors.  He is trying to get everyone to believe that he is doing this for the betterment of America and that deep in his heart he really is for the average person.  He is really doing this because he wants strict gun laws so that only the the people in control have the guns and then they will make the rules.  This is not a one or two year plan for this Liberal President but a ten or twenty year course that will take America into the Socialistic nation that he believes it should become.

Gun Laws and Regulations

Themiddleclassman

Gun Laws and Regulations
Over the last several weeks all that we have heard is that we need to regulate guns to prevent people from using them to kill.  At first glance this seems like a great thing.  Let’s make the world a safer place to live by making it harder to get guns or limiting the amount of bullets that we can put in the gun.  Making the world a safer place is a good goal and something that everybody should work for day in and day out.  However, putting new gun laws on the books is not the way to accomplish this goal.  We have 2 cities in the United States, Chicago and New York City, which have tough gun laws limiting which limit the clip size or amount of bullets that the gun owner can have in them.  Is it working in those cities?  The answer would be no.  In both cases the majority of gun violence is from drug dealers and gangs who are not going over the local gun show where you can purchase firearms from legal dealers to purchase a fire arm.  These people are purchasing firearms illegally and do not really care who they hurt with the gun.  Take the young woman who had marched in the Inauguration last month.  She was minding her own business when sum thug from a gang shot her because he thought that she was part of another gang.  I would be willing to bet that the gang member that shot her did not buy the gun legally.  Also, the gun violence in New York was decreased by police going after the drug dealers and gangs and removing them along with their illegal guns.
More gun laws are not the answer but it is just a great smoke screen the current administration is willing to put in front of the people of the United States so that they do not need to answer the really tough questions that face this country.  We are slipping further and further in debt and do not want to face the music about reforming the Welfare system and the unemployment that is taking the country apart.

The demise of the middle class

For most of my life I have considered myself as a typical middle class person.  I graduated High School in the top 25 percent of my class which is about average.  I went on to college and took more than 4 years to finish but did receive a degree from a major university.  Once I finished college it took several years, a few job changes and even some spells of unemployment to finally find my career path.  I have a been blessed with a great wife and 4 wonderful children who support an give me great joy every day of my life.

I am giving all this background on myself so that readers of this blog will realize that I am just an average man and I have had some of the same struggles that they have had.

I vote in all the election but never have been very involved in the political area.  What I am really saying is that I always have held my  political views to myself and considered myself a middle of the road person.  However, after the last 4 years I have just had enough and have decided to make my feelings known to all.

One of the first things that the Mr. Obama told us during his first run for the White House was that his administrations would be Transparent for all to see.  What a load of bull.  This man has held back room meetings and closed door sessions so he can do things to the American people which if seen in the light of day would have show his true colors.  I remember when they were in a meeting working on the current health care joke and John McCain told the president about something that they had promised not to do when on the campaign trail.  Mr. Obama reply was that he promised a lot on the campaign trail and that he would not be held to something he had said.  That was just the beginning of what was to come.  He kept telling us that he was going to unite the country but all that I have seen is a country divided.

What I can not decide is if he is smart as a fox or just someone's boob.  In his first 4 years he has taken this country down deeper in debt than any other president and is still asking for more. He tells us that he is working for the middle class but we in the middle class are suffering more and more every day from his policies.
